Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what the K€T4M1N client, its cloud service and this website do with your data. We keep it short on purpose: we collect what the features need and nothing else.
1. What we collect
- Account identity. Your Minecraft username and UUID. They are verified through Mojang's session servers when you connect, so nobody can pretend to be you. If Mojang cannot vouch for you (offline launchers), the client uses a device key instead: only the public half of a key pair made on your computer is sent to us, together with signatures that prove you hold the private half, which never leaves your computer. A verified player can also register the public key of a computer as a trusted device. A public key is stored for as long as the account exists and is shown nowhere.
- Progress. XP and level, coins, unlocked items, daily quest progress and achievements.
- Gameplay statistics reported by the client. Kills, deaths, hits, swings, damage dealt, playtime, time spent dancing, emotes performed, sessions, best combo, best clicks per second and best kill streak. No chat content, no coordinates and no screenshots are included.
- Loadout and synced settings. The cosmetics you wear and the settings of the few modules that are shown to other players, so they can see them.
- Social data. Friend relations, blocks, and direct messages between friends. Parties live in memory only while they exist.
- Presence. Whether you are online and, only if you allow it, the server you are playing on. Presence is held in memory and is not written to the database.
- Content you create. Shared configs (never including your friend list or saved places), and reports you file about other players.
- Optional links. If you link Discord, your Discord user ID. If you redeem an invite code, who invited you.
- Moderation records. Warnings, mutes and bans, with the reason and the moderator who issued them.
- Purchases. If you buy coins: the order number, the pack, the amount and currency, the status and the time. The payment itself is handled by our payment provider (Stripe), which has its own privacy policy and receives what it needs to take the payment. Order records are kept as long as accounting and consumer-protection rules require, even after an account is deleted.
- Website login. When you log in on the website with the game, a random session token is stored in a cookie in your browser (only its hash is stored by us) for up to 30 days, together with the time, a shortened address and the kind of browser, so you can recognise a login you did not start. .web logout in the game ends every session.
2. What we do not collect
- The private half of your device key, your Minecraft password or access token. The token is used only by your own game to talk to Mojang; it is never sent to our servers.
- Your real name, address, card number or any government identifier. Card payments happen on the payment provider's page; we only receive the confirmation that a payment of a certain amount went through.
- Files from your computer. The client reads only its own configuration and cache in ~/.ketamin.
3. IP addresses and logs
Like any web service, we process your IP address while answering requests and to rate-limit abuse. We do not store IP addresses in the player database. A reverse proxy or hosting provider in front of the service may keep ordinary access logs for a limited time.
4. What is public
By default your name, level, badge, name color, statistics, achievements and the cosmetics you wear can appear on the leaderboards and on your public web profile. You can switch this off at any time in the Hub (H → Profile → Privacy); your profile then shows only your name, level and badge. Other players with the client can always see the cosmetics, emotes and name styling you choose to display in game. Friends can see which server you are on only if you leave that option enabled.
5. Why we use the data
To run the features you use: showing your cosmetics and emotes to others, tracking quests and achievements, ranking players, delivering messages, preventing abuse and moderating the community. We do not sell data, we do not show advertising and we do not profile you.
6. Who receives it
Other players see what section 4 describes. Our moderators see reports and the moderation history. The Discord bot of this service receives only what is needed to answer commands you run. If you use the avatar images on this website, your browser requests them from public Minecraft avatar services (mc-heads.net, minotar.net or crafatar.com), which see your IP address and the name being displayed.
7. Retention
Account progress is kept while your account is active. Direct messages are kept so that conversations can be shown again and are deleted when either participant's account is removed. Moderation records are kept as long as they are needed to protect the community. An offline name that was claimed and never used for anything is released after 30 days. Shared configs stay until their owner deletes them.
8. Your choices and rights
- Hide your statistics from leaderboards and the web profile (Hub → Profile → Privacy).
- Stop friends from seeing your server (same place).
- Block or report players (.block, .report).
- Unlink Discord at any time with /unlink in the Discord server.
- See and revoke the devices that may log in as your verified account (they are listed by an anonymous fingerprint), or ask a moderator to reset an offline name whose key you lost.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for your account to be deleted, using the contact below. We will confirm your identity through your Minecraft account before acting.
9. Security
The connection to the cloud uses HTTPS. Client updates are digitally signed and verified before they run. Even so, no system is perfectly secure; please do not reuse a password anywhere you can avoid it and keep your launcher up to date.
10. Children
Minecraft is played by many young people. If you are under the age at which you may consent to data processing in your country, please use K€T4M1N only with a parent or guardian's permission. Buying coins requires you to be 18 or to have a parent or guardian's permission.
11. Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way we will say so in the news section and the in-game “What's new” window.
12. Contact
Reach us through our community Discord server or by opening a ticket with the moderators.
